Noise Marines seem to be the bandwagon unit for this codex.

Well in the last two editions they weren't. Guess GW swapped something around to make them more that way. Kinda like Immortals for Necrons vs Warriors.... Immortals have a more powerful weapon, better armor save than the warriors
