Yellow is a difficult color to cover smoothly. I'm deciding how to paint the guns and backpacks still.

Yellow on black is really tough. I would suggest putting a layer of white over the spot you intend to paint yellow.

Use two coats of the foundation yellow, and two coats of the color you want, then wash with delven mud. Makes a decent yellow.

Re: Jonathan - Tau
I ended up with two coats of Apple Barrel yellow and one coat of a Citadel yellow and am happy with the result. The brown is a dark brown with a lighter brown over it watered down a bit. Gun, backpack and helmet antennae are grey base, off white over that then delvin mud. Red on the visor. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. The entire squad will be finished tonight after work and photos will be posted. I'm going to do a simple tan base.

February done. Not 100% happy with them. I may add more details later. Next up are the Devilfish transports. No airbrush, I'll be painting the with brushes and mtiple thin coats.

Re: Jonathan - Tau
I tried my hand at painting a Devilfish today. The result was so disastrous that I'm going to shelve the Tau for a while and work on something else. Painting is something that you either have a natural talent to do or you can't paint. I'll try to revisit painting later, but for the sake of not smashing any models, I'm taking a break from it.

Re: Jonathan - Tau
I've shelved my Tau for now. I'll revisit them when I can buy some of the Liquitex spray paint to base coat the Devilfish with. This month, I've been working on doing up a radar station. Here are a couple photo's of it freshly built and base coated. I'm going to add very few details to it, mainly because I have never painted a building and I don't want to ruin it. I'll have a finished picture in a week or so.

While, I really like the radar site..... very well executed. It will look so good on the battlefield.......
I just LOVE the new Tomb Kings ....... I always knew you had a keen eye and a real talent ....I just LOVE them. I know it is almost impossible for us to get a game in but I sure do love your TKs. I have even painted up an additional Great Cannon in hopes of bringing your TKs under Empire control ...... :

Between summer school and my new schedule working nights, game time is non-existant for me. Over the past few nights, I have been taking breaks from studying to finish painting three more Ushabti. Here they are. I hope to get them on the table sometime this summer. The two on the right and the front left are the new ones. All metal and same pose, but the look good mixed in with the others.
