Ok I have made an decision to get back into Space Marines. I have 13000 points worth so now it is time to learn how to use them! Here is my first list for Codex Marines:

2000 Pts - Space Marines Roster - Vulkan Marines 2000 points

In my opinion I would drop the scouts and put in a second Thunderfire. They can be really nasty, but when I used to run just one it died really easy. But 8 STR 6 templates is nothing to laugh at. Especiall against horde armies.

why not give the squad in the rhino a free multi melta or missile launcher, as for the squads in the razors, why not also give them a free flamer and missile launcher, u have the right squad size.

as for the libby what power does he have, plz at least have one of those powers be null zone

whats the plan with speeder, hiding it behind the raider as you advance or u plan on deepstriking it? or does it depend on the situation?

the scouts, id suggest u give the 3 guys sniper rifles that way they can do something too, who knows you might get a rending off on some poor hapless sap or even pen av 10 or 11

other then the free weapon options that I talked bout, it looks like you've been taking some pages from steve's and ben mohile's style of lists, def looks balanced, nice mix of anti infantry and anti tank weapons, i like it. I say play with it and let us know how you do with it.

Also if you beat steve make sure he doesnt forget it Very Happy

i think for that sort of reason is why I'd say only one would be good for this style of list. if you lose one then you're not really hurting, but 2 lost might hurt you bad, besides since its cheap, u can use the other points to buy other things. besides you dont run into too many horde style lists anyways and 1 can be used to annoy marines as well even it isnt that effective against them

now if you get a ruins in your deployment zone, throw it in cover and it has a nice 3+ cover save, not to mention the long range would be nice too
