Calling all Chaos players, I need your help! Help me iron out my army for Coastal Assault.

I'm planning on making Coastal Assault 2014 so that gives me just over 6 months to get an army ready. I'm either going to use CSM or SW but I've got a huge head start on CSM painting so I'm hoping to work out a good list with them.

Here is the criteria for my competitive CSM list:

1. Must get into the face of the enemy ASAP, turn 2 assaults, overwhelm enemy target priorities. (I'm tired of having my CSM foot hordes getting mowed down by shooting.)
2. Need at least 4 troops for objective taking/holding and support.
3. Not so worried about anti-air, ignoring it except for my one Hellchicken in the list.
4. Needs to be competitive but not at the expense of fun. I have no delusions of winning anything just want to be able to put up good matches.
5. Assault, assault, assault, fast, fast, fast: going for quick overwhelming attacks and killing their troops as priority.

THE LISTS

I have two lists made, the main difference is that one has a land raider and the other a biker squad and extra maulerfiend.

What do you chaos guys think of these? Like one over the other and why? What suggestions do you have to make the lists achieve my criteria better? If you think a huge revision is in order let me know, I'm not set on anything yet for my list.

I would use the second list, primarily because it has 5 (three fiends, bikers, spawn) units that can assault turn two compared to the 4 (two fiends, spawn, zerkers in raider) that the other list has, and because of that i think it gets the assault job done more efficiently than the first list. The only change i would make to the list would be replacing the nurgle lord with a level 3 sorceror on bike with no mark on him, the only reason i would do this is because he offers a lot more versatility and army wide support than the chaos lord.

I have to admit I've been leaning towards the 2nd list myself. I'm happy I found an alternative to the expensive land raider.

I would never have thought to use a sorcerer in this type of list except in hopes for a good roll and get invisibility but I didn't want to count on the randomness.

I'm curious how you would play the sorcerer on the bike? What disciplines and why?

Can you find 18 points to give your Chaos Marines the Mark of Slannesh?  If the main goal is to get into assault, wouldn't you want time to swing just a little bit faster than everyone else?

I would roll all biomancy for the sorceror because iron arm and warp speed make the sorceror stupid in close combat, endurance makes nurgle bikes nearly unkillable, enfeeble makes your troops wound pretty much anything on threes, life leech and smite both provide solid anti-terminator, and haemorrage just sucks but if you roll that one just swap for smite since its the primaris.

Hmm, yes, biomancy looks very tasty but random. Worth some test runs to see how I like it.

So lets chew on the HQ section a little:

Does anyone see a better option for the LineCrusher II list than the following choices?:

1. Juggernaut lord (joins 5 chaos spawn)

2. Nurgle Biker Lord (joins 8 Nurgle bikers)
    OR
   Chaos Biker Sorcerer (joins 8 Nurgle bikers)

Are you open to allies? If so, bring in Karanak or skulltaker on Juggernaut and 20 Flesh hounds of khorne. Your troops can be 1-2 squads of plaguebearers to camp on objectives and/or deep strike.

Ah, thanks for the suggestion. That does sounds like the bees knees but I'm pretty much locked into my list now. I know your suggestions would be better than the troops I have in my list but I don't want to buy anymore models than I have too. Sadly for demons I only have: bloodletters, undone demonettes and a few demon princes.

Sorry Steve, looks like I lied to you. My list is not done. Looks like Coastal Assault is 1999 points and I only made a 1850 list. I am trying to work in Karanak, hounds and one squad of bearers but the points are not working yet. I really think Karanak and the hounds will work perfectly with my list but I doubt I can field anywhere near 20 hounds.

Here we go, hammered out a 2000 list:

Now I have 8 units screaming toward the enemy round 1, hopefully it will put too much pressure on them to handle on turn 2 when most can assault and eat face.

Any suggestions or comments? I will be glad to have them.

Actually I'm really digging this list with the Bloodthirster it just seems more terrifying. I figure with so many dangerous targets charging that the thrister could fly in behind a mauler and not get shot at very much before he rapes face on the opponent's forces turn 2.
