HUBCON...... DA REVIEW

Post  Dr. Hans Zarkov on Sun Sep 15, 2013 1:06 pm

Went to Hubcon yesterday with Jeff. Here my opinions on the positives and negatives.

Positives.
1. Its close. Took about an hour for me to get there.
2. Relaxed style.
3. Got to see some of the Hattiesburg guys like Shawn Lowery and Andy Graham.
4. T.O. (smack elf) is a nice, friendly guy.

Negatives
1. Told to arrive at nine, but tournament didn't start until 10:30.
2. Judge didn't know some of the basic rules and made some bad rulings.
3. List that beat me in the end was illegal and cost me winning first place and a nice prize.
4. This isn't necessarily a Hubcon problem, but the fact that there were around 16-18 players and I think I had the only fully painted army there, was troubling. It's just sad to see the modeling and panting aspect of the hobby dying.

HUBCON...... DA REVIEW

Did you see the FOG tables ............. Eight armies averaging about 60 bases ea Total painted model count per army was about 250 models each .....

Over 2000 painted models ... many were award quality mini-dioramas. Not a single unpainted model...

My question is and always has been .... How do you know you are playing against Ultramarines if the show up in Grey Primer armor
