Anyone playing them?  Opinions?  I have several tanks and infantry with enough Dark Eldar to proxy all day long, just curious if anyone has used them.

New Eldar Codex Empty Re: New Eldar Codex

I have used them rather extensively. They are super fun and very versatile. The new elements in the codex are good enough to see regular use without being so game changing as to change the feel of eldar as a whole. In my opinion, it is the most stable release of a codex to date. They updated the rules to make eldar fun and reasonable to play in the new edition rather than give them whole tons of fun new toys to make boatloads of money. I, personally love mechanized lists. So i have been working heavily with jetbikes and wave serpents.
There is some interesting jank available with Karandaras & wraithblades or howling banshees. I use karandaras to infiltrate the wraithblades then get some quick assaulters in the enemies face. This can often serve as an excellent distraction but against a suitably skilled opponent who can tar-pit the unit well enough ends up being too much of a point sink. Ask hink how it went against him lol.
Against large masses of troops swooping hawks are now much better with only one simple change. When they land, they do not scatter, this makes them great for surgical removal of models from defensive emplacements (say an Aegis defense line?) or harrying the opponent's forces from unusual or difficult to get to positions.
Im still trying to work out a suitable foot list, especially one that uses an avatar, but I will get it soon!

All in all, a great codex that did a great job of preserving the Eldar race as they should be, an eternal, unchanging force in the universe. Enigmatic & Mysterious while still being kewl and fun to play. The addition of a few special rules & one or two new units really did a great job providing a whole litany of play styles that are all viable on the battlefield.

Thanks Pat, I've been through my initial reading and I've been tinkering with some small lists. I'll check out the wraithblades and K.

Just as an update I finally picked up a Eldar Codex and I'm in love with the jetbike farseer and Wraithguard.

I did some reading and looking at the Wraithknight, while he looks cool as heck he just doesn't seem to have the punch (literally) that I was looking for. It seems he doesn't have a ton of firepower, nor enough melee to make him worthwhile. Great to soak up shots I guess or roflpwn tanks, but still he has to hit.
