Tomb King list

Okay, still learning the army, but here's my current build I'm looking at. I have all the models except the casket of souls, but that's either buyable or buildable.

I'm looking at Necropolis Knights and Ushabti. I've ruled out tomb guard as I've never had anything remotely successful with them and I hated building those little bastiches! I think I may split the skeletons into smaller units that can hold things up while the chariots maneuver for flank or rear charges. I'm also looking at named characters over the generic ones I chose. I doubt I can beat ogres, but feel this army would hold it's own against most other lists.

I like the list a lot. The only suggestion I would make is take a minimum sized Carrion unit and dedicate them for charge blocking. The casket adds a lot to your casting phase so I think I would have a run for my money even with Ogres.

My eBay stuff came in today. 4 new chariots, 9 skeleton cavalry, 11 archers, 12 warriors, 2 standards, 2 musicians, 5 carrion, 2 screaming skull catapults and a pile of spares that will make a few more somethings. The Tomb Kings are growing in power!

I've been reading the rules for Tomb Kings and I've come up with a nasty unit to fight. Take 48 skeletons w/banner and light armor, a tomb prince and a necrotect. Having the tomb prince makes the entire unit of skeletons WS 5 (the rule for that is My Will Be Done) and having the necrotect gives the entire unit Hatred which allows to re-roll misses in the first round of combat. This sized unit is also hoard sized so the first three ranks get to attack, so that's 30 attacks at WS 5 and re-roll misses. Not too bad. With 2500 points, I can make three of these units. Also, by dropping spears on my skeletons, they gain a 6+ ward save and don't lose the 3rd rank attack since they are now a hoard formation.

3 Tomb Swarms (found out these are nasty little warmachine killing units)

Unit 7:
Necrolith Colossus (same as a hierotitan without bound spells, also gains 6+ regen with necrotect nearby)

Unit 8:
Screaming skull catapult (I'm bound to stop self-destructing these some day)

Overall, I think this is a good solid list. I sacrifice the hammer of chariots but gain an insane ammount of WS 5 attacks with first round re-rolls of misses. The tomb swarms can pop out and harass warmachines or block charges, the warsphinx and colossus can dish out some serious anti-monster hurt and the catapult has a 50/50 chance of taking out big targets for low points cost.
