The Nice thing about this army is you can get most of it from getting 4 battle forces, each at about $76 on Amozon, ($95 at GW and over $100 at Jaks)
You Could Build this army for as cheap as $420 (shiping not included) by using Ebay, Or you can buy from GW and spend $825 (again, shiping not included)

I never played as eldar befor but it was the army that made me want to play. Feel free to post what you think of the army, and/or any tips you may have.

In the current codex, 99% of armies should start with eldrad. Also remember that most of the eldar powers are used at the start of the movement phase IIRC, which means you'd be unable to run up in the serpant, disembark and use the powers.

Find the points somewhere for holofields on the vehicles. Playing against Eldar as often as I do, I hate them with a passion of a thousand fiery suns.

Yriel, is good but IMHO but he is not good enough compared to a regular autarch for the points. (I always build my autarch's with fusion blaster, power weapon & Mandibles for 100 points he is a great addition to any assault unit). Teh Captain is right, if your going with 1 farseer, go with Eldrad, worth it EVERY TIME!

Some other things to remember:
The star engines extra 12" of movement is done in the shooting phase and cannot be used to tank shock (we got nerfed in the newest FAQ lol) but you CAN use it to cover your other vehicles that are shooting that turn... (you shoot one vehicle then move the other one in front of it to give it cover!)

Fire dragons are a great unit for popping that super annoying BAMF tank, but once they do that they are gonna get popped, just remember that they are a sacrifice unit, so investing too heavily in them is not advised (I try to keep them under 200 points not counting the vehicle)

For late game objective grabbing i like "Tri-Template guardians" you take the storm guardians (in a wave serpent) give them 2 flamers & a warloc with destructor, then on turn 5 burn over to an objective & hop out, dropping 3 templates on the poor people stupid enough to be in your way, using the rest of the squads shiruken pistols to clean up afterwords.

With Dire Avengers, there are basically 2 roles they can serve, a cheep tarpit unit (with shimmershield & defend) to slow down the enemy death star, or the shooting hammer unit (2x shiruken catapults and bladestorm tho note that only gives the exarch 5 shots now), i find that doing both is too expensive.

Wave serptents are one of my favorite vehicles in the game, there is nothing more fun than telling a Space Marine Player that his lascannons are only str 8 (or even better telling a tau player the same thing about his broadsides!) but I tend to like the versatility of TL missile launcher rather than the bright lance. I come to that decision because of the current meta environment, most players are either running swarms (see nids, orks, kroot) or MSU in rhinos and razorbacks which the missile launcher tears up quite well! If I started seeing more armies with swarms of land raiders or ironclad dreadnaughts or monoliths then i'd consider the switch to the lance weapons.

All told, its pretty similar to my current Eldar list, MecDar is pretty popular right now probably because Eldar have the distinction of owning some of the toughest vehicles in the game (imagine trying to pop a fortuned falcon that moved flat out!) & they are a blast to play, many people say its a "Finesse force" which i think means that you have to be able to carefully apply your force to destroy the right things...

Per the core rules (page 4) A vehicle is a "Type of Unit" couple that with the fact that other farseer power specify non-vehicle whereas fortune does not, I am quite sure they can in fact be targeted by fortune!

I dont think you can get holo feilds on wave serpents. I didnt take Eldrad cause he is really expensive AND im already taking a special character. i took yirel becasue he has they Eye of wrath, i was thinking of sending him into a basic troop squad and poping it off. I didnt think about that with the eldar in a vehicle cant shoot. i think a wave serpent dosnt have any fire points, dispite farseers not needing line of sigh to target a unit. I was more conserend whit casting doom the turn of the assult. I Suppose 10 fire dragons is much., perhaps i can take the 80 points and put them somewhere nice. Im conserned witht he Guardian Squads behing too big. maybe break them in half and add another support weapon. It will also help witht he capturing objectives. I wanted to use the dire avengers more as a wall. Guardians are suishy, and i was thinking of using the avengers to basicly keep assault units off them.

I dont have the Eldar codex, it was my friend's. Eldrad would be nice, if i reemmber he can cast one extra spell dkuring the shooting phase. i might break the guardian units in half. Give them the two Wave Serpents. maybe even make them the storm units. We will see.
