just aquired a chaos army

Its all older models, i was wondering if someone with the chaos army book could help me point it up

im pretty sure you can download one over the net on pdf. its been out for the last 3 years so its readily available. also a new book is prolly coming out in in the fall of this year with new models so be ready for some new goodies!

and welcome to chaos. heres some tips i wrote for a newbie on dakka.

WoC are middle upper to top tier army based on how you have it. most people use chaos warriors of khorne with halbreds as there hammer unit with tzeentch warriors with shields as there anvil. marauders are great for points value. gw with khorne and you get 6 point combat monsters with ws4 str5 and 2 attacks a peice. go with tzeentch and LA and SH and you get a 5+AS and a 6+/5+ if your in CC ward save. the magic is great for each god. obviously khorne cant cast magic. of the marks of the gods i would say khorne and tzeench is the best followed by nurgle and slannesh rounding it out in the bottom. khorne gives frenzy and immune to psych, tzeentch a +1 to cast for casters and +1 ward save 6 if you dont have one. nurgle gives -1 to shoot the unit or -1 ws in hand to hand. slannesh just gives immune to psych. marauder horseman and warhounds are the other core choices and do well at redirecting. special choices have some great units with chariots and ogres that can take the marks an have chaos armor! ofcourse the ever stalwart chaos knights and the chaos chosen. rare includes shaggots gians and spawn but hellcannons are warshrines are the best rares. hellcannons provide the only shooting the army has and warshrines help your units become tough.

I'm still on the fence for a fantasy army. Probably will be until I can fund it. My idea for an army for fantasy is either Orcs & Goblins, Bretonia, or Beastmen

Well i want skaven but this kinna just fell on my lap n I'm in transition between jobs n it seems like a great opportunity to learn fantasy

you can always buy mantic games kings of war line. they have an orc n goblin line coming out soon. not as many poses as gw minis but hell of alot easier to put together and ALOT CHEAPER. probably goood orc horde army for 300-400 dollars compared to maybe 600 for gw? ofcourse they are true 28mm and not 28 mm heroric or 30 mm.

I hear ya... that's how I started playing necrons is that it fell into my lap as well for 40k.

I haven't had that much luck with fantasy though lol.

I just gotten rid of all my 40k stuff I had left which was my necrons. So I'll be looking at getting into Fantasy the begining of next year. Been thinking on doing Bretonia first.

Go there and buy the skaven half for 35 each half of the set. That's how I got the 8th book was from them. It takes about a week or a little after to get here, but worth it.
