Sportsmanship..... What's that huh? Empty Sportsmanship..... What's that huh?

Post  Man-of-War Tue Aug 07, 2012 6:08 pm

Ok before I start this...... This is a rant of my frustrations so if you don't want to read this go to another thread understood? So this will be a negative post with a suggestion thrown in.

Now if you are still with me. Let me continue on my journey of what I've seen before from other players out there before in wargames.... I've been in tournaments for a good 3 years. What hurts me is whenever we wargamers take advantage of the new players that some call newbie, green horn, noob, and other names. I've seen before this happen on different occasions and I've kept my mouth shut about it. This is one of the reasons why I quit playing magic... The competitive players out there not helping keeping the hobby alive by being helpful to the unexperienced player. That's the only way new people learn is to play the game fairly. That's us the more experienced players being a good sport and showing some sportsmanship.....

Now if you got butt hurt over this you didn't heed my warning at the top of the page. I did warn you and it's your own fault that your feeling got hurt over this. If your feelings aren't hurt from this then thankyou for understanding while reading this rant.

Have a good day.

Nope! Good topic in the right place! I agree with you. Part of the reason Logan doesnt play is because of a couple people dog stomping him in Jaks tourneys for easy points. Its hard to motivate players when they have that kind of experience.

thats why we have been able to keep alot of our players in the goula chapter, we picked up a new guy that has never played and he is loving it, we are having just as much fun teaching it as we do playing it when it is fun

Thankyou for understanding gentlemen.

I threw this in here because the sportsmanship is what drew me to wargaming in the first place. It's what seperates us from the card player crowd that I came from.

Head over to the Independent Characters podcast page and listen to episode 33. It's all about player etiquette. Worth listening to. In fact, if you don't listen to them, I'd suggest starting at episode one and hearing them all. They really do have the best 40K podcast out there.
