Re: My first tyranid build
I can see that on tabletop because I've went against a list similar to your's last tournament except it had death leaper, swarmlord with guard, hive tyrant with guard, pod with pyrovores, and 3 twenty man genestealer squads, and lictors. Everything was coming in through reserves on 2s second turn for him. The problem he had was if an opponent can set up a good defensive plan of action then it won't be that surprising with the genestealers. Lictors and deathleaper was more surprising to me than most anything else in his army.
Overall you look pretty solid, but what will you do vs mechanized armies? You only have 1 monstrous creature and once he's gone you'll be hard pressed to pop tanks with genestealers with their rending attacks.
I'm not trying to judge you harshly just telling you things that I see.... The gant brood of 30 you could probably hack down to 10 and throw a termagon for the babymaking potential... Toughness 6 spam is what tyranids can do best in my opinion.
Tyrannofex, harpies, termagons, hive guard, tyrantguard with tyrant attached, and my personal twist of venomthropes is the list I've seen pretty awesome I've proxied for about 3-5 months with tyranids. That's playing about 3-4 games a week through those months.

Play the list and tweak it as needed. Test play is best way to learn. Also, in future please refrain from posting unit stats. GW can be iffy about those things.

Re: My first tyranid build
a few tips...
1. Change the Carnifex to a Tevigon with catalyst and adrenal glands and make him a troop choice.
2. Combine the 2 warrior units to make room for the troop tervigon.
Both will be more difficult to score a KP and will hold up better in assault. The tervigon is a major force multiplier. I recommend 1 in nearly every Tyranid list.
