Deathwatch RPG

has anyone played or run this? if so tell me what you thought about it

Played it with logan it was fun but there are better rpgs

I play other rpgs...but as.far as.warhammer 40k is what iam meaning

I would play it again tho

System and book layout is wonky as Hell. Would be almost better running Deadlands with power armor rules and changing the setting

The universe is good (as we all know), but the system leaves quite a lot to be desired. It's inherent flaws are a barely 2dimensional system that belongs more in the annuls of gaming's failurres along with SLAY industries and DnD 4th ed

That said, it would be pretty easy to mod the system up enough to make the game more 3 dimensional... Plus they did a great job making the Eldar's stats

Now that I think about it... I bet Alternity would be a GREAT system to run 40k in.


As long as you are happy to "coat of paint"* stuff. Coat of paint is a rule I use that just says, it can look like whatever as long as it does everything that the normal rules say you can do. Want to play a dinosaur? That's fine just use the stats for whatever race is most similar and describe yourself as such... but for all statistical purposes you are a human.

Anyways, I love alternity... got to play it a few times. And yes, sadly SLA is a rules failure... neat atmosphere though, Mr. Sla is the Emperor, seriously.... lol.
