Re: What Are You Reading?
I strongly suggest not reading A Song of Ice and Fire until the series is finished. You will read the first five books and number six will take so long to come out, you will have forgotten everything that is going on. That has been the pattern with the previous five books so far.

Re: What Are You Reading?
I'm currently reading the second BLOOD Angel Omnibus and it's hard to put the book down.
I just finished The Purging of Kadillus. Gav Thorpe's writing is so bad that it makes me want to melt down my Dark Angels. Unfortunately, this guy gets most of the Dark Angel and Eldar writing assignments so I read the shit anyway even though it's physically painful to do so.

Re: What Are You Reading?
Yeah, I've heard that alot of the 40k books are notoriously badly written.

Re: What Are You Reading?
I've just finished reading the First Hertic which was a good book. If you want a "how the heck did this all get started book" this is the one. I still have to read Outcast Dead and They Shall Know No Fear.
Re: What Are You Reading?
I'm currently working through the Grey Knights omnibus. I think a lot of people expect more from the 40k books than what they are meant for. Remember GWs target audience is 12-16. Really, the books are no more than the fluff in the codex expanded to fill more pages. It's not like GW said, "Write me something that will rival Slaughterhouse 5"

Re: What Are You Reading?
I'd recommend anything that aaron deminski-bowden, william king, sandy mitchell, ben counter, kyme, or sarah cawkwell writes. In amongst those are some books that didn't do well by them.
Right now I'm reading the Gildar Rift by sarah cawkwell. It's about the silver skulls taking on huron blackheart. It has a different feel to the book then the other astartes books I have read that's in my collection.

Re: What Are You Reading?
There is an order they came out, but it doesn't really matter. Cause the story doesn't follow from book to book. It jumps around alot. So I put in bold what I know the books are mainly about like what legion or part of the imperium and all.
Horus's story
Horus rising
False Gods
Galaxy in Flames
Garro's Story
Flight of the Eisenstein and the audios oath of moment and the other...
Dark Angels
Descent of Angels
Fallen angels
Alpha Legion
Legion
Assassins
Nemesis
Word Bearers
First Heretic
Aurelian limited print
Salamanders
Promethean sun limited print
Space Wolves
Prospero Burns
Thousand Sons
A thousand sons
Mechanicum is another about the imperium.

Only a couple more days and I can get my hands on a copy of Voidstalker which is the 3rd book of the nightlords series I've been reading about.... Been drooling to read it since this time last year when the 2nd book Blood Reaver I finished in a couple of days.

Re: What Are You Reading?
Well lately I've been picking up warhammer fantasy books and reading them. I like them better than the space marine 40k ones so far. Going through the Sundering omnibus which is the story of how the division between dark and high elves happened. Seems easier to follow and more depth than the bland outlook on most of the space marine novels.
But then again I've liked medieval tales better than futuristic.
