I don't really see where any race got the short end of the stick really. All they done was made sure that they where up to par with 6th rules.

New de are misserable. Look at all the auctions on ebay popping up. They ruined any melee they had.

Nerfed incubi being able to fight 2+ armorial units
nerfed fnp which all de had
Flickerfield is pointless
low armor transport raiders and venoms have no chance now
agonizers are nerfed
all units that start with fnp like wracks are nerfed
ash vect's weapon is boned

Really mine are going in a box.

Lmao.... Now you know what it's like to be a xenos player man. Join the crowd of people that play tau, eldar, tyranids, and other xenos races that aren't Necrons. You know GW has a hard on for Astartes. They are just gearing up for the return of the Dark Angels Deathwing terminator army. They can't be having everything in the world able to easily kill them.

Ap 3 weapons are still good against most everything.

Still they should have left something in the fast assault army that could fast assault and actually have a chance to win. The klaivex is good but agonizers should be ap2 for a 20 point weapon. And why ga. Why did you Jeff webways. Who used them anyway? I liked them but they are unusable now.

The WWP can still be used to arrive from reserve for DE units you have. It just can't be placed within 2 of an enemy model or within 2 of another WWP and You can't assault from it which I just read........ Which is gay I have to agree.

The Fnp being nerfed I have to agree is a good thing even though its for all armies..... You ever unloaded 48 shots at a 10man marine squad with Fnp and they all survived cause of Fnp or Paladins squad of 2 wound terminators and they all survived?.... It is frustrating.

Didn't fnp actually get stronger? Now only stopped by instant death instead of AP2, AP1, power weps, rending, failed dangerous terrain, and all the other stuff? I'll gladly take a 5+ to ignore most of the problem causing things before.

Double your toughness = instant death so FnP still sucks for DE

Dark Eldar are ALL ABOUT feeling the pain... makes sense that FNP doesn't work for them. Now, if it were Love all Pain... different story.

H2H hit

Post  tamastar63 on Fri Jul 06, 2012 4:31 am

Actually, it seems that h2h really took a big hit with this Ed. Between denying ALL assaulting from reserves, which includes outflanking, infiltrating, scout moves, and deep strikes AND overwatch AND all this "Character Challenge" crap. It's like GW wants to discourage h2h all together. First they make it harder to charge things, then when you can get to something, they get a free chance to pummel you with gunfire. Then, if there is enough of you left to reach the enemy in h2h, the speed of the game grids to a snail's pace with the challenges turning one combat into two,..... But wait, then other character can come to the aid of others characters that are locked in a challenge. Cool idea, I'll give it to GW, but to me it seems that this stuff belongs in some kind of "smaller based RPG game". 40k is supposed to be a table top war game where you control ENTIRE ARMIES! No wonder 6th Ed is now "recommending" smaller games. It now takes all day to play 2000 pts!

FAQs

Post  tamastar63 on Fri Jul 06, 2012 4:36 am

And I think the FAQs do not address nearly enough. To quote a friend of mine, "It almost seems that they gave the FAQs to the new intern to update the night before 6th Ed was released", LOL!

Maybe we will see some more updated FAQs in a few months.

Post  fulange on Fri Jul 06, 2012 6:56 pm

as usual, GW released the FAQ not to create balance or support the gameplay of their entire product line, only to make the product line PLAYABLE with the newest shiniest and most overpriced thing they are selling (eg the 6th ed CRB), which is severely lacking IMHO...

That said, allies are gonna be interesting enough to give it a shot!
