To Aegis or not to Aegis?

I play Xenos and personally love the Aegis, its a cheap solution to fliers and I like running gun lines, but my armies typically don't have great armor saves 5+ or 6+ kind of guys. 50 points for the line turns my T3 low armor guys into 2+ "we might just survive this barrage" kind of guys, of course they have to go to ground, but its better to have that than loose them all. Plus units that have gone to ground can still snap shoot as far as I know, and worse case scenario my 36" range guys can start shooting at fliers looking for 6's.
