Here’s to the first newsletter of the New Year! And maybe last year too! It’s been an obscenely long period of time since I sent one of these out, so long, in fact, that several people asked if I had given up the will to live. Nope. I’m still around. I probably would have gotten this out a day or two ago, but I’ve been reading the thousands of crazy articles about Te’o’s fake dead girlfriend. We’ve all had exes we’ve dreamed would magically die off, but this is the first time I’ve seen someone create and kill off his own girlfriend. Wow. To put that in Warhammering terms, that would kinda be like if the reason Horus betrayed the Emperor was beause the Emperor took his most beloved puppy away, but that beloved puppy was really a Space Wolf whose Gene Seed had corrupted and was sent to spy on Horus. Or was it Horus who conspired with Leman Russ so that he could win sympathy votes from the other Primarchs to win the Heis-….. title of Warmaster. J

Anyway, if you’re a fan of large battle reports, you should check out the link at the end of this paragraph. It’s a reenactment of the Battle of Hel Finn where Mannfred von Carstein was finally cornered and defeated after ravaging much of the Empire. There are six players, three Vampire Counts players on one side and two Empire and one Dwarf on the other, with each side having 20,000 points. You read that right: 20,000pts per side. Both armies are fully painted with numerous conversions and the battle reports contain loads of pictures, maps, and humorous dialogue. If you like reading stuff like this in your free time, this is a must read.

Finally, I’m happy to welcome the return of Warhammer tournaments to the Greater New Orleans area. Danny’s 40k tournament packed the house, so that the Tyranids consume their collective biomass. He has another one coming up in March if you’re interested. As far as for Warhammer Fantasy tournaments, I’ve agreed to run them for the next year, starting with the first one next weekend (Jan 26). - Plastic Tzeentch Chariot, herald, dual kit with "flame-beast" pulled by screamers, ( 40k: a Skimmer)
- Plastic Nurgle Palanquin, (chariot), carried by Nurglings, (combines with Nurgle GD kit for named character model - Ku'gath)
- Nurgle Plague-flies jetbikes/monsterous cavalry (40K-Elites, WFB-Rares)

Warhammer 40,000 fans, we're hearing that all that xenos-imperial-xenos codex stuff is a bunch of malarkey...



Get ready boys and girls because multiple birds are now tweeting to prepare for the following in 2013:

Tau Empire - Chatter says look for a "closer relations" between the Tau Empire and the Imperium.
Chaos Daemons - Possible Fantasy book dual release like last time around.
Eldar - Expect lots of amazing models with this one - the Eldar are Jes' babies after all.

Let the Imperium burn my friends - let it burn!!!

Tau are said to be arriving in early Spring (with that Uber-suit), with jockeying for position between the Chaos Daemons and Eldar for who gets the Late Summer and Fall slots.

Yes there are distant mumblings of both the Black Templars and the Tyranids getting some Games Workshop Studio attention, but nothing rules-wise for this year. The Crusade Fleets can at least feel happy that apparently they won't get folded into the Space Marine book.
