skyrim wins
If you liked oblivion you will love skyrim. worth every penny. if you have a gaming computer buy it for pc. as the xbox does not support antialiasing. so the game looks far superior on pc.
Re: skyrim wins
Glad to hear it is great, I had no doubt. I'm salivating to play it but waiting to buy it around Xmas so I can play it during my Christmas vacation. That way work won't get in the way!
Re: skyrim wins
Yeah, I've been wanting to play. I played Oblivion, but couldn't get into it because of the graphics at the time. But I fell in love with fallout 3 and New Vegas so I definitely want to give it a shot. I've heard good things.

You really should try Oblivion on the PC with player created enhancements for graphics and natural environment. Pure awesome, at least I think so.
Re: skyrim wins
I like sneaking around in the shadows as a wood elf on skyrim and sniping with a bow and arrow. Done the same on oblivion and the one before that. Actually been thinking on letting that influence my choice on warhammer fantasy.

Re: skyrim wins
I've been playing it every chance I get. I've got my dark elf pickpocket and I'm quickly becoming a rich man. I was going for the whole assassin thing and I still am, but right now pickpocketting is somewhat addictive. I was really suprised at the amount of money, gems, jewelry, and magic jewels that you can just snatch up if you look around. Of course I had to join the theives guild to sell off my ill-gotten gains. I'm trying to stay away from the stealth archer concept I've seen, I played a guns character on New Vegas so I'm trying to stick with a concept.
I will say that I'm interested to try magic out on a second character.
As far as the mechanics of the game, I love how as you use a skill it increases, and then you invest perks to get nice bonuses. Its cool how they have the prerequisite skill to grab them, makes you want to plan and affects your playstyle alot. Also I think I remember from Oblivion where you could just sit and cast magic all day to skill up, well now when you perform a skill it has to be in an "active" situation. Ie. you have to be hidding from someone, fighting in combat, healing wounds, etc. At least from what I've seen, now there were some exceptions where people had figured out ways around that, but that's for cheats, hints, and spoilers players.
All that being said, I picked up the official guide to help me when I got stuck, and yes my google-fu is strong, but I like my dead trees sometimes.
In short, why didn't I take the day off of work, I could be playing Skyrim!

Re: skyrim wins
im playing a magic character . Its broken to say the least lol... every fight is extremely easy. my wife plays the sneaker archer type. so i switched to a melee character. by far the most fun i have had getting in the mix with dual axes.
Re: skyrim wins
I have a khajit that's the archer sneaky type I like being able to see in the dark also backstab on occasion. An orc warrior with a shield and one handed weapon that I forge my own stuff with. Love some heavy armor.. Have another character that's a magic user dark elf... I like conjuring up elementals and dishing out destruction.. I kinda swap between those three whatever I feel like playing.
My wife has a high elf she beat the game with and a dark elf archer sneaky type that's she's playing now going through the companion quests and now the dark brotherhood

My redguard skirmisher now has 57 hours docked.
And I've only completed the dark brotherhood plot. This game is awesome.

Re: skyrim wins
My dual dagger wielding assassin is level 34 now, I would love do to a complete playthrough of this game with an archer type character. I might try and make a sword and board archer, but I also want to give magic a shot too.... to many options.... head exploding....
But anyways, yes this game is awesome. I thought for a little bit that the game was going to be a long string of 1-3 liners on each npc, save a few, but I recently did a huge chain of quests in Riften with my theif that really impressed me, still not finished but its impressive.

That sucks! I've wondered if my disk will outlast my xbox... I've already got the red ring of death once and had to get it fixed.

Re: skyrim wins
I haven't touched my lvl 38 mage sword in over a month. I need to buy this game on the ps3 and start over since my xbox is reserved for work now. But, with mass effect 3 coming out, ill probably just wait
