casting compound failure
Since local hobby stores do not carry my favorite rubber molding compound, I decided to just pick up one that they do carry. Anyone that wants to break into the hobby should basically stay away from anything that they carry. Their extra strength compound is far too weak for my liking and the 48 hour cure time is far too long. Not only that, the mixture still has not completely cured(I let it sit for around 55 hours) and the models stuck to the mold. Really tough to get out. For the pice, its horrible. You get around 10 or 12 oz for nearly 30 dollars while my favorite compound (http://www.smooth-on.com/Silicone-Rubber-an/c2_1113_1136/index.html?catdepth=1) is cheaper and far easier to use. Its a 1 for 1 mixture while the one I picked requires more measurements, not difficult, but on top of the rest of the issues, pisses me off all the more. I prefer the OOMOO 30 because of the cost, ease, and the detailing it can catch. All in all, if you want to start molding, either get this compound or go to http://www.amazon.com/Moldmaking-Casting-Pourable-Starter-Kit/dp/B000QCHVC2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1323484320&sr=8-2

Yup and from what I hear he's cheap too if you want him to make something from green stuff.

So how much would you charge for making symbols for shoulderpads or rhino doors... Just curious

Ill post som pics of a wolf pelt cloak i finished, today before work. As far as symbols and the like go it depends on the size and complexity of it, a rhino door sized dark angel symbol is a lot easier than a rhino door sized space wolf symbol

Like a mechanical looking hand on a shoulderpad or a shark symbol on a shoulderpad. I know I sound confused at times on this site, but I'm just keeping my options open lol.
