orikl's BIG EFFIN BIRTHDAY GAME!!!

To celebrate my birthday, mike,brandon,anthony ryan, patrick, panda , jp , and hink all are coming over to my house to play a 20000 point game.
there will be a battle report later tonight after the game and hopefully pictures ...

no it was 2 4x8 ish tables. there are pics and i would write up a battle report, except there were so many models i didn't know the names of

Myself, Pat and Hinkel pulled out the win on the final round. We held 3 and contested 2 and managed to clear off one objective.

There were 2 tables with 2 bridges spanning a gap between them. 8 objectives 3 on each side and one on each bridge

Mat - Tyranids
Mike - Tau (Kroot army)
Anthony R - IG
Brandon - Dark Eldar

Team 2
Pat - Eldar
Hinkel - IG
JP (me) - Grey Knights

It was a crazy long game. Very brief summary below:

Turn 1
T1 goes first lots of shooting from IG and DE, Team 2 Pat and JP held nearly all the armies in reserve so Hinkels IG took the brunt of the shooting

T2 Goes Hinkel shoots alot of Ordinance kills some things

Turn 2
T1 goes more IG shooting lots of reserves and other stuff comes on, Tau shoots alot

T2 goes more ordinance from Hinkels IG, I have the pleasure of deepstriking my Deathknight and screwing the scatter and having to roll the mishap which of course was a 1 and my Knight dies, lol

Turn 3
T1 Tau and Dark Eldar pretty much have surrounded Hinkels Baneblade and the DE troops manage to haywire the shit out of it and end up blowing it up. This is where we learned about how epic an Apoc Tank is when it blows up. It blew in a 12 inch radius at str9 ap2. This blast nearly cleared the DE army off the board, lol.

T2 we do lots more shooting Pats eldar skimmer zip everywhere and kill stuff.

Turn 4 pretty much similar to the others

Turn 5
DE shoot 3 regular GKs off an objective on TEAM 2s side, they control both the objectives on the bridge and all three objectives on their side. Team 2 only controls 2 objectives on their side. Team 2 goes, a group of GK pallys get up on the bridge to contest the bridge objective. Pat shoots up the troops holding the other bridge and then pulls the Kroot into assault which pulls them of that objective as well. GKs 2nd group of pallys run onto the objective that the DE cleared in the first half of the round and control it. Pats troops end up contesting one of TEAM 1s objectives and the game ends.

So in the end we controlled all 3 of our objective, contested one bridge objective, and contested on of their objectives. They had 2 of the objectives on their side and noone controlled one of the bridges. We ended at 430 AM.

wow ya'll didn't say it was an apocalypse game.

Was there Big Effing Birthday Cake? Good thing the Orks stayed home. Nothing worse than a mob of sugared up Orks with guns.

convienent you say that... some of the terrain was ork based... and there were two birthday cakes one was shaped like a ork head.

i would have loved to field some more orks.

it was a fun game, biggest one i ever played in. Baneblades ftw

hmmmm.... Don't take this offensively, but I don't like IG

Regardless if you like IG or not, a Baneblade going supernova is cool.
