Space Wolves

AND...

I started some Space Wolves as allies for my Ultramarines. At some point, I will do Imperial Guard as a planetary defense force.

Here is my take on Space Wolves armor... Didn't care for the extreme baby blue nor the GREY wolves look, I think I managed a compromise.



The only completed figure is the terminator.

Even Russ himself would be proud.

I hear a haemonculus can turn a spacewolf into a Grotesque.... my cabal will have to try it.

Thunderwolf Cavalry is the unit that if my opponent pulls them out of the case, I'll just pack my army up. I won't play against them.

They toughness 5 models with 2 wounds each. The expensive way of doing them is with all storm shields for the 3++ inv otherwise they have only a 3+. Only 1 can have a Hammer, Fist, or Claw. Move like Calvalry so 12 inch normal move and have fleet so rerolls charge distance. That's the unit itself. If they have a Lord on a mount with them that's when I'd worry more.

This unit dies to mass torrent fire. Meaning multiple units firing on one unit to really wrack up on the armor/Inv saves they have to make.
Plasma seems the way to go this edition. Ap2 ignoring everything and throwing those wounds on them is good.
A Horde unit that is at full squad will kill them too. I've had experience where Genestealers with broodlord tarpited and won against them. The broodlord singling out the Hammer guy, but that was in 5th edition too.
Blood Angels Vindicators would work too. Str10 means instant death to those models and if they don't have storm shields they are just a moot point.
But like most anything you have to really stack up the saves that your opponent has to take on them. Otherwise they'll hit your lines and do some damage.

And grot, I'm not the best player, far from it, but it sounds like you need to win a few games, maybe play those blood angels you had up a while back and use mephiston.. just kidding..

How long they take is hard to gauge because I paint in conveyor belt style.. stop... comeback couple days later.

If I had to crank out a thunderwolf and a guy then I could probably do one in around 2 hours start to finish.

Love the way your wolves look. I am currently making my 2nd wolves army in a similar scheme but am focusing in making them 13th company. I look forward to seeing more.

Yeah it's a great paint job. I could never decide on a marine army for 40k. I liked it reading back on the different chapters you could make. Then I'd probably play Iron Hands because of the fondness to machines I have.
